7Pines Resort Sardinia Review: First Impressions
The huge size of the 7Pines resort strikes you immediately as you enter the grand gates – past the cheerful security guard and the immaculately kept gardens. This is a sprawling space (56,000 square metres) featuring multiple pools, bars, a spa and an award-winning restaurant; it feels like a sanctuary for grown-ups who need to slow down, switch off, and take a proper break.
Luckily, it’s easy to reach – just a 35-minute drive from Olbia airport and nestled in a quiet cove on the stunning northeast coast, in an area known as Baja Sardinia. The wider area forms the Costa Smeralda (or the “Emerald Coast”), the most upscale part of Sardinia.
Let’s be honest, Costa Smeralda is not short of luxury resorts, and 7Pines is often mentioned alongside rivals Baglioni and Cala di Volpe as one of the top luxury stays here. But 7Pines positions itself a little differently. As part of the Destination by Hyatt brand (with a sister property in Ibiza), it leans into a more relaxed, laid-back luxury vibe, bringing a touch of Ibiza-cool that sets it apart from its older, more formal neighbours.
So – does it deliver, and should you book 7 Pines Resort for your next Sardinian escape?

7 Pines Resort Highlights
The coastline here is among Sardinia’s most beautiful, but you may find yourself reluctant to step beyond the resort. And from what marketing manager Pasquale tells me, “Many of our guests choose to spend their entire holiday here — they arrive, settle in, and don’t feel the need to leave.”
Here’s a closer look at what 7Pines offers once you settle in.

There are two outdoor pools available
Swimming Pools & Spa
For daytime relaxation, take your pick from two large, panoramic outdoor swimming pools (one with a central swim-up bar), private beach (and nearby secluded beach coves) as well as the Pure Seven Spa: featuring a Finish sauna, massage and shady relaxation courtyard to enjoy a cup of tea after a massage.
On a scorching Sardinian summer’s day, I’m cautious to enter a spa that could feel like stepping into a volcano, but not this – the Pure Seven Spa has been thoughtfully designed to allow plenty of natural light and air to enter, avoiding that stuffy basement feeling.

The Pure Seven Spa
Health & Fitness
There’s plenty here to keep you active. Expect immaculate tennis (and padel) courts, a well-equipped gym with fitness classes and yoga to help you achieve peak relaxation. For swimmers, you’re spoilt for choice with the two swimming pools and some of Sardinia’s finest beaches nearby.
Food & Drinks
There are 5 venues to take you through from breakfast to supper.
Fine dining comes in the form of Capogiro, recently selected in the Michelin Guide 2025 and is helmed by Executive Chef Pasquale D’Ambrosio. Here you can enjoy contemporary Sardinian and Mediterranean flavours with a beautiful view out to the Tyrrhenian Sea.
In the laidback Ibiza spirit – you also have gourmet pizza restaurant Spazio by Franco Pepeand and the Cone Club – a daytime beach club focusing on fresh seafood. As night falls at Cone Club, the decks come out, with chilled DJ sets setting the atmosphere for an evening of sunset watching and cocktails.
For aperitivo time, swim up to the poolside bar to enjoy an Aperol spritz, Campari soda or pre-dinner negroni. Or head to the Capogiro Rooftop bar and soak in the views.

The garden suite room
The Rooms
Pictured is the garden deluxe suite, with views overlooking the swimming pool area and lush gardens. This is the entry-level 23 square metres room, and it’s almost designed as a small villa, rather than a hotel room.
My favourite feature was the inviting terrace accessible through large folding doors that encourage you to lounge outside rather than in. The room is compact but has everything you would expect from a 5-star resort (including the much-needed but often forgotten phone charging sockets on either side of the bed).
Mini bar, coffee station, power shower (with full set of toiletries) are all included, and a bottle of prosecco is gifted on arrival – a nice touch.
I didn’t have a chance to see the other rooms, but there are many larger in size (and price), including the popular beach suite with double the space at 44 sq metres. That comes with direct beach access, a private garden with a Jacuzzi, a spacious living area, and a terrace leading straight to the shore.
Would I Recommend 7Pines Resort Sardinia?
7pines brings its laidback Mediterranean Ibiza charm to Baja Sardinia. The hotel manages to blend luxury without over-the-top formality. 7Pines is perfect for a special romantic trip, especially for couples seeking a relaxed holiday without the stuffiness of heritage hotels.
The design is contemporary and sharp – the subtle backing of a house music sets the modern tone from the moment you arrive.
If your budget allows, I’d recommend one of the beach suites to really make the most of it. It’s the kind of place that’s made for honeymoons, anniversaries, or a well-earned escape from city life. A place to unwind and forget your duties for a while.
7Pines Booking Tips
The resort opens seasonally from late April to mid-October, but the best value is found in May, June, and late September when the weather is still glorious and the crowds thin. Avoid July and August if you prefer peace over peak-season.
Among the most sought-after rooms are the Beach Suites with direct shore access and private Jacuzzis, the Rooftop Suites offering panoramic sea views from secluded terraces, and the Sea View Junior Suites for stylish open-plan comfort with Mediterranean vistas. Booking three to six months in advance is strongly advised to secure these premium options and take advantage of early booking offers.
